Summersong Release Today!

Summersong, my new title with Liquid Silver Books, is being released today!

When Lucy Graham's uncle passes away she inherits his rustic cabin overlooking White Swan Lake. She's just learned that her boyfriend has been cheating on her while she was nursing her ailing uncle so she packs up her laptop and moves into the dusty, neglected hideaway.

Back in the quaint town where she spent many happy days she finds herself confronted her childhood nemesis, Skip. He's wanted Lucy for years and now he's determined to have her. One afternoon as Lucy's walking on the shore he grabs her. As Lucy struggles, she hears a voice. A full, rich voice. A voice coming from -- the water?

Her knight, Maxwell James, arrives in an expensive boat instead of on a white steed. The handsome man saves her from Skip, but can he help her deal with a past that haunts her, a present that overwhelms her and a future that seems increasingly hazy?

Summersong is a story about dealing with the past, embracing new beginnings and finding love where you least expect to find it.

Recent Read

Writers are readers, too. I love to read books that I haven't written. Actually, the love of reading, along with my early desire for self-expression (my mom says I 'wrote' my first book with a green crayon!) has fueled my writing career. So I spend as much time reading as I do writing.

Last night I finished an excellent book, and I thought I'd share my thoughts about it with all of you. It's called The Knight Before Chris by Peggy Hunter, and it's a Whiskey Creek Press Torrid title. A sexy, smart heroine named Winter finds herself seeking solace after an especially tedious round of interpersonal wrangling. She heads to a secluded spot, thinking to find some peace. Instead, she becomes snowbound with the object of her recent wrangling! It's a delicious romp, filled with poignant moments and sensual encounters. It's a story of two people finding understanding--and romance--amidst a blizzard.

It's a holiday story like none I've read before, and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The Knight Before Chris was a great read and Peggy Hunter is an excellent story-teller.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Wanted to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day! I love this day, dedicated to love and loving. It doesn't get any better than that. Hoping that you spend this day with someone you love!

Great news!

I'm tickled to announce that I've been offered a contract for a short paranormal story I wrote called Vows. It's going to be included in Whiskey Creek Press Torrid's anthology called Summer Solstice Scorchers. The volume will be released in June!

Bella Notte

I'm pleased to announce that Whiskey Creek Press Torrid has recently offered me a contract for my romance novel, Bella Notte. It is a sexy, often funny story set in Italy. I had a blast writing this book! I haven't gotten a release date yet but I'm pretty sure it'll be out sometime in 2008. I've got releases scheduled with WCPT through February '08 so it will *hopefully* be a spring or summer release. It is the type of book that would make great beach reading!

Watch the dangly bits!

Visiting the Netherlands, anyone?

I can't help but wonder what March 4th is going to be like at the Dutch gym where a "Naked Sunday" exercise program will be introduced. Clothing will be optional and exercisers will be able to work out in the nude. Interesting, don't you think?

Patrick de Man, owner of Fitworld gym in the town of Heteren, said he got the idea in part from two of his customers who are avid nudists.

"I heard that some other gyms are offering courses on 'pole-dancing' as a sport, so I thought: Why not bring something new to the market?" de Man said.

De Man said the first question Fitworld customers were asking was whether it would be sanitary.

Nude exercisers would be required to put towels down on weight machines and to use disposable seat covers while riding bikes. All machines would be cleaned and disinfected afterward. "We clean them every day anyway," he said.

Although I personally have never thought of performing tai chi, hiking or any of the other activities I do that could be considered "exercise" in the nude, I wouldn't mind watching what goes on at Fitworld Gym in March. I can't help but wonder how...um, safe it is to have...well, swinging bits and pieces around pulleys and weights. All I can say is that I think it will be interesting and I hope no one suffers any injuries.
