Still tickled by Mrs. Giggles' review of Timing

An 86 from Mrs. Giggles is something that makes me smile, for a long, long time. :)

The entire review is here.

"...Timing is more women's fiction than romance if we want to classify it as something because this story deals with Lisa trying to determine what the "right" thing to do is rather than a romance story of sweetness and sunshine. Tom is from all appearances a perfect catch - she likes him, he's gorgeous, he has a stable career, and he adores her. Is it "terribly selfish and immature", as Lisa puts it, to resent him for his inability to give her an orgasm and his turning sex into something she's come to dread? And oh god, he wants to do it all the time..."

Timing

Got an email from a reader who enjoyed my Liquid Silver Books release, Timing. Here's a bit of what Karen said in her wonderful letter:

"I could identify with the characters in this book. I was once in a relationship like Lisa and Tom's. Unfortunately I was too stupid to deal with my issues as well as Lisa and Tom did. I lost a great guy. Wish I had read this first! You capture the way a person feels perfectly. Thank you for writing Timing. I can't wait to read more from your pen!!!"

Thank you, Karen, for your kind words!

TIMING Excerpt

Available from Liquid Silver Books.

It would have been simple to fake orgasm. After all, she’d done it so many times in
the past, with such convincing results, that doing it yet again, moaning and panting,
squealing and shivering on cue as if she was the reincarnation of Pavlov’s dog, would
have been almost second nature to her. But in that instant, in that tiny flickering point in
time, she knew she couldn’t do it. Not again. Maybe not ever.

I deserve satisfaction, too—don’t I? And not with my own hand or the thankfullynearly-
silent flick-a-switch-always-ready vibrator I’ve got hidden in the bathroom,
either. No, I deserve to feel a full-fledged, no-faking-it climax—with a man!

“Are you ready?” Tom groaned, his body tensed for release as he held himself above
her. Supported by his elbows, his football-player’s body was still hard and muscular.
After college he’d kept up the weekly practices and weekend games, as well as daily
workouts at the gym. His love of sports had kept him in excellent physical shape. It was
too bad his lovemaking skills weren’t as well-developed as his biceps or his tackling
prowess. “Really, Lisa, I’m almost there. Are you ready, honey?”

Do I look ready to you? I’m lying here thinking about tomorrow morning’s meeting.
Shit, I’m anything but ready. But maybe I’m not doing my part, either. Maybe I should
concentrate a bit more, really try and get myself “ready.”

Shifting beneath him so that her clitoris came in contact with the base of his hard-on
with every thrust, she matched the rhythm of his hips perfectly. Almost all of the
lubrication she’d produced earlier, when they were kissing and touching, had dried up
and the slapping of flesh on flesh was uncomfortable.

“Oh, yeah. That’s it, baby. That’s it,” Tom’s eyes closed and his head tilted back as
he matched her movements.

“No, it’s not it,” she said. Pushing against his chest, she waited until his eyes opened
and he looked down at her. His eyes were wide, his hips had stopped moving and his
expression was one of pure shock. “It’s not doing it for me tonight. I’m sorry, but I’m just
not into this.”

“You’re not … are you kidding me?”

“Why would I kid you?”

“But I’m ready to explode. Can’t you feel how excited I am?”

Nodding, she said, “I can feel how excited you are. Can’t you feel how excited I’m
not?” She hated to hurt his feelings but sometimes the kindest cuts were the deepest.

It’s been a year. Let’s see what this relationship is made of once and for all. Will we
get past this? Figure out a way to make both of us happy in bed? Or will this be the end
of what has been, otherwise, a pretty good thing?

Tom looked like a man who’d just learned all his favorite things were illusions. His
erection stayed firm, and deeply situated inside her pussy, but his face fell. For a moment
it seemed he might simply get up and leave.

A part of her wished he would do just that. The other, bigger part of her prayed he
wouldn’t.

Giggled

I've been Giggled.

Mrs. Giggles has reviewed Timing on her site. I've been smiling since I've seen her review.

She gave it an 86!

Take a peek at the review, please. In case you missed it, it's here.

Oh, it's been a good week!

Timing released August 6th!!

Ooh, I just love this cover!
Timing was released with Liquid Silver Books on Monday. I have been so thrilled about this, because honestly, I love this story. It may be rude for a writer to say that but it's the truth. This is a tale of two people who love each other, but who have a real problem they need to either work out--or not. Even though I wrote Lisa and Tom, I wanted them to find happiness. Their trials were important to me. I guess I feel an attachment to all my characters, but this pair found a special spot in my heart.
It’s said that timing is everything, but does that hold true in the bedroom, too?
Tom and Lisa are compatible in every way—or so Tom thinks. They love each other, have a great apartment and share so many mutual interests. Most people would think the couple has it all. And they do—almost. The truth is that Lisa hasn’t been feeling nearly as sexually satisfied as Tom thinks she has. He just doesn’t rock her world—in that way.
When a handsome co-worker invites Lisa to his posh beach house for the weekend, she dutifully fills him in on Tom and her unavailable status. But John is gracious enough to extend the offer to include Tom in the weekend getaway, and Lisa accepts his invitation. After all, why shouldn’t they have some fun?
Maybe a weekend of sun, sand and sex is just what the couple needs to get their urges in sync. At least, that’s what Lisa and Tom are hoping. And John? What’s making him grin is still a mystery, but one he’s willing to share—for a price.
Check Timing out here.

August 6th, TIMING releases!

I'm so excited!
Timing releases in a week from tomorrow! I love this story, love the way the two characters realize they love each other but something isn't quite "right" in their relationship. Hey, we've all felt that way from time to time but how many of us go through as much trouble as Lisa and Tom do to find a way to satisfy each other? I hope you'll take a look at this story. Enjoy it and please, let me know what you think. I love to hear from readers!!
